Beembles
Aves sapiens, flying 'trumpety' birds, whose long beaks extrude in forms of a trumpet. Chubby creatures in forms of a fluff-ball, with wings and rustic claws for proper clutching. They have a size of an average poodle dog, but still are capable of flying over long distances, regardless of their hefty weight. And yes, they do make many stopovers during flights - these birds get hungry fast.
Beembles were initially circus performers, often dancing and blowing their trumpet-beaks for tips. Later on, some nations have managed to train them to deliver letters and even helped them to develop their own language. Beembles are fine companions, if you have enough of food with you.
