What is the Golden Scallop?

An artificially created object made in the shapes of a clam-shell, deformed specifically to be worn as a hand-plate, or armlet. Created by unknown wizards of the past, they were rumored to be made of pure gold.

The Golden Scallop is the most sought after item in the Globiuz universe. The composite item is made of a physical shell often time blended with other various elements, such as: gems, stones and tokens. 

The object possessed magical powers unknown to Globiuz and the relic itself was sought after in narrow clubs of treasure hunters.

Is the Scallop itself a magical item?

It is disputed whether the shell itself (the armlet part) of the item possess any magical powers.

It was believed that the stones implanted in it were the true source of magical powers. The legends tell that ancient wizards have created certain armlets and items in gold, while hiding true powers in stones instead.

The Golden Scallop was forged as a composite weapon, but without proper magical stones it was almost useless.

How many Scallops are there?

It is unknown how many Scallops, or even those composite gems exist on Globiuz. None were found during the Mid Era of Globiuz, nor were rumored to be discovered. All is known, that those weapons are forged by sorcerers, who are no longer with us.
