Raffaj

Character. His name is Raffaj and he is a human! The younger and only brother of Jaddar, who is learning from his baleful vizier to manage the throne of Nabadeen. He is not as clever and sly as his sibling, but he could be influenced by the latter easily, turning himself reckless and uncontrolled at times.

He is still useful to the throne — this is probably the only reason why Jaddar hasn't poisoned him already. Raffaj would sneak into chambers and replace documents when needed, leaving the place like a shadow; he would pretend he saw nothing, he would shield off his brother when needed, even if the latter never truly cared about him. Raffaj would inject a poison capsule into one of his enemies if ordered by Jaddar. A capsule thoroughly prepared in the underground laboratory by Jaddar himself.

Raffaj is not devoid of emotions. Sometimes he baffles himself with his reckless actions and pities his enemies — this is his only weakness noticed by the throne and it is used against him at times. He is the embodiment of a thin struggle between a reason, a purpose, and the narrow moral code he had preserved in himself in this cruel, political setting. Raffaj may be trusted by the throne, but no for every task, and he knows that.
